Vacant Gas and Heating Engineer Role at Heath Electrical Services

Heath Electrical Services provide first-class electrical services to homes and businesses in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. Now, we will be expanding to also offer gas and plumbing services. This is due to client demand and is an exciting time to be joining an already successful team through a time of growth.

To aid this growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, dynamic individual to join the team.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5pm. Overtime work is available should you want it.

Appointments are booked by the office, and clients are charged by the hour. We provide quotes and estimates for larger projects that are likely to take more than 3 hours, so the ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively with customers and prepare a comprehensive parts and materials list for the office to prepare the quote.

Day-to-day work involves a variety of repair, installation and general maintenance tasks for heating and boiler systems.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of boiler diagnostics, repairs, servicing and installations, and should also be happy to help out on the plumbing side of the business.

Gas/Heating Work:

  • Emergency gas leaks – Boiler fault diagnosis and repair
  • Boiler servicing and diagnostics
  • Issue notices and certification required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety
  • Megaflo and unvented cylinders
  • Landlord gas safety certificates
  • Radiator installations
  • Gas fire services
  • Gas appliance installations
  • Gas run extensions and re-routing
  • Occasional installation work, although 95% of jobs is for repairs

Plumbing Work:

We undertake all types of plumbing work of which a significant portion includes emergency reactive plumbing:

  • Tracing and fixing water leaks
  • Taps, toilets, baths, sinks, basins and showers
  • Cold water storage tanks and overflows
  • Power flushing
  • Appliance installations
  • General plumbing including 1st and 2nd fix
  • Small bathroom refurbishments and installs

  • Multi-skilled with the ability to join in with other work within the same or other jobs

What You Will Need:

  • ACS
  • Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Installing and Maintaining Domestic Heating Systems
  • Level 2/3 (NVQ) Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
  • Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (recognised trade qualifications)
  • Qualified to work with central heating, water heaters, cookers, pipe work, unvented hot water (formally ACOPS 1-14
  • Qualified gas safe engineer (CCN1)
  • Experience of PV and ASHP systems (Desirable)
  • OFTEC (Desirable)
  • Evidence of continually developing professional knowledge
  • Driving licence
